Malaysia Airports in the midst of branding pitch

Malaysia Airports Holdings (MAHB) is currently in the midst of a brand refresh initiative which also covers Kuala Lumpur International Airport. A+M understands the brand refresh involves three stages. The first stage includes the brand audit which covers a review of the mission and vision.

The second stage, A+M understands, includes a development of the brand’s blueprint and the last stage comprises internal workshops and training, as well as a communications plan for the new brand launch, media events and above-the-line and below-the-line engagements. A+M has reached out to MAHB for comment.

Last year, MAHB’s network of airports registered a 4.0% increase compared to 2017, with 133.1 million passenger movements. International and domestic passenger movements registered a growth of 5.9% and 2.3% to 63.3 million and 69.8 million respectively.

On the local front, airports in Malaysia registered a 2.5% growth over 2017 with 99.0 million passenger movements. Meanwhile, the international sector recorded 51.7 million passenger movements with a growth of 4.5%, while domestic sector recorded 0.4% growth with 47.4 million passengers. Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Tawau, Sibu, Bintulu, Kuantan and Ipoh airports registered a double-digit growth in passenger movements.
