The Philippine Daily Inquirer has published a digital yearender not only available for computers but also optimized for any mobile device to reach more Filipinos now hooked on mobile.
The yearender, titled “The Story of 2013,” is a website launched by the national broadsheet’s internet news portal Inquirer.net. It features the company’s signature blue livery and a minimalistic design with content spread out on a continuous scroll complete with photos, videos and related links.
Disasters and scandals were the top stories in 2013, led by the pork barrel scam allegedly masterminded by businesswoman, now detained Janet Lim-Napoles. But undoubtedly the biggest story of them all in all media was Supertyphoon “Yolanda” (international name: Haiyan) which left thousands dead in the central Visayas – starting an unprecedented showcase of human solidarity.
