Lion & Lion names Iris Peng MD of Taiwan

Lion & Lion has appointed Iris Peng (pictured) as managing director to oversee its operations, strategy and overall business performance in Taiwan. Peng was previously country marketing manager for Cisco Taiwan, marketing director for Audatex Asia Pacific, a Solera company, and account director for Era Ogilvy Public Relations.She has over 15 years of experience and expertise from working in New York, Beijing and Taiwan where she specialised in digital and data-driven marketing, strategic planning and execution.Peng said today, brands are increasingly looking to partner with agencies that provide independent recommendations and integrated strategically-led solutions that optimise their marketing investments.“I am excited to work for a well-known agency in the region that represents just that, and I look forward to growing Lion & Lion’s presence in Taiwan further through impactful digital marketing to both our local and regional brands and partners,” she added.Peng explained that Taiwan’s advertising and digital marketing industry continue to report double-digit growth and its strategic position is becoming more relevant for start-ups and companies coming from across Southeast Asia and developed countries. She added that the country is an “attractive test market and base” for expanding into bigger and more mature markets.Lion & Lion’s newly-appointed CEO Fredrik Gumpel said Peng is a talented analytical thinker and client-centric leader with vast experience in digital marketing and strategy.“With Peng’s leadership and drive, we will be able to strengthen our local capabilities, and ensure we deliver strategically-led and impact-driven digital marketing to our partners in Taiwan,” he added.Recently, Lion & Lion in Taiwan partnered with various clients across the energy, insurance, real estate and beauty industry to develop and launch multiple digital campaigns in the last months of 2019, the press statement added.Earlier this month, the agency streamlined its business focus to three core service areas, namely strategy, creative and media. Gumpel aims to realign the business model to reinforce the agency’s position, capabilities and services. He said that Lion & Lion will increase its investment in the three identified core areas by bringing onboard more specialists and senior industry experts.
