Timothee Semelin has joined Rosewood Hotel Group as its corporate director of digital marketing and transformation, effective this September.
Marketing has learnt that it is a newly created role.
In his new role, Semelin will be responsible for building the hotel group’s digital culture and exploring emerging trends in the technology space to enhance the digital guest experience.
Semelin is now based at the Hong Kong headquarters to be in charge of anything digital – from digital marketing to digital transformation in the company, and is reporting to Rosewood’s group vice president sales and marketing, Thuy Tranthi Rieder.
The news comes amid a time when Rosewood Hotel is developing a 27-floor residence in Tsim Sha Tsui, set to be opened in 2018.
Prior to his new role, Semelin was the regional account director for marketing solutions in China, Hong Kong and South Korea at Linkedin, a role which required him to help brands, creative and media agencies build marketing strategies on and off LinkedIn. Brands he worked with include Huawei Technologies, HSBC, Marriott, HKUST, HKU and Shangri-La.
He has also worked for agencies like YouFu Media and Dentsu Aegis Network China to do media planning and buying for brands and businesses.
“We are delighted to have Timothee join the team and share his insights on digital transformation.” says Thuy Tranthi Rieder, group vice president of sales and marketing of Rosewood Hotel Group. “His vast knowledge and experience within the Asia market will complement our portfolio’s expanding footprint in the region.”
