Lenovo’s regional marketing head Kenneth Low is leaving

Kenneth Low, marketing head for Southeast Asia at Lenovo is leaving the role as confirmed by Lenovo’s spokesperson to A+M. Low who is based in Malaysia is currently serving his notice period and is expected to exit by the end of October. Low was promoted to his last role at Lenovo as ASEAN marketing head in January this year after holding his prior role as its Marketing Manager in Malaysia for three years.As the marketing head for Lenovo ASEAN, Low is tasked with boosting Lenovo’s brand growth across PC and enterprise business in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia. During the interview, Low mentioned that he will be taking a break while considering a few roles or business opportunities that have been offered to him.During his tenure with Lenovo, some of the keys achievements and accolades in the region and country for Low include hiring and setting up regional teams for ASEAN in Kuala Lumpur, centralising marketing key operation functions to make marketing more efficient and cost savings, rolled out several key announcements across 9 markets: Nutanix partnerships, Thinkpad X1 launch & Movie partnerships on Warcraft, announcing Lenovo Smartphone to market (K900 being the first in Malaysia), driving premium to market with Lenovo's premium line of products e.g. Yoga & gaming Y series, setting up new Lenovo branded stores across the nation, uplift Lenovo overall brand image to top 3 most considered brand in Malaysia.Meanwhile, the company has found his replacement. Rose Siu, who is based in Hong Kong, will serve as its Regional Marketing Director of Central Asia Pacific. She joined Lenovo in September like Low, and in addition she also has the newly-added Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea regions under her remit.Siu is also responsible for driving the Chinese multinational technology company’s social media and digital engagement, demand generation campaigns, PR and retail. At the moment, the company said it has no plans of moving its marketing headquarter to Hong Kong with the new hire.Prior to the role, she was a senior marketing director of Asia Pacific at Hitachi Data Systems, according to her LinkedIn profile. At Hitachi, she led its APAC marketing team across the region, and responsible for the development of the APAC marketing and communications strategies, among others. She has over 20 years of experience covering areas that include marketing strategy development, sales and marketing programme management, branding, communications strategy and programme development.Siu will report to Nick Reynolds, Lenovo’s Asia Pacific (APAC) CMO who is based in Sydney, Australia.  CORRECTION: A+M had in the original article dated 25 October 2016 written that Low is leaving less than six months into the role.
