Lego’s Australia & New Zealand senior director of marketing, Troy Taylor (pictured) will take on the general manager role of Lego Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan business in May, Marketing confirmed.
He will relocate to Hong Kong in May, and succeed Pater Fung, the current country manager of Lego Hong Kong.
The group in Australia is currently searching for a replacement.
Taylor will bring about 15 years of sales and marketing experience. In his recent role as senior director of marketing, Taylor has helped restructure and build both the marketing team, and local marketing strategy to cope with the changing demands of the media and consumer landscape, said Claus Kristensen, Lego Australia’s GM in a statement, Toy Hobby Retailer reported.
He was recognised for launching the first Australian Lego ad during Christmas in 2014, and was behind the ideation of the giant 2.4 metre Christmas trees made of Lego bricks in Sydney and Melbourne to drive excitement around the brand.
Lego has been taking several steps in recent month to increase their presence in Asia, including the opening of its new office in Shanghai last month and a factory in Jiaxing in November last year.
