Lazada Indonesia CEO Alessandro Piscini exits

Former Lazada Indonesia CEO Alessandro Piscini (pictured) has exited the eCommerce company to form an online business called CREA. Piscini confirmed that he has founded and launched the company in Thailand with Aimone Ripa di Meana, former chief operating officer of Lazada Group Singapore. The duo will be unveiling more details in the near future.Piscini was with Lazada Group for over six years. He was appointed as Lazada Thailand’s chief commercial officer in 2013 and worked his way up as the CEO. Piscini was then transferred from Thailand to Indonesia to helm the role of Lazada Indonesia CEO. Prior to his stint with Lazada, Piscini was the associate at Barclays Capital, handling the Italian corporate finance and coverage.According to LinkedIn, he was responsible for the financial and rating advisory to corporate clients, merger and operating financial modelling. Piscini has also been an analyst with Barclays Capital and Credit Suisse. Meanwhile, Meana has been with Lazada since 2012.He started as the co-founder and managing director and left the company this year, last helming the role as chief operating officer. He has previously worked with McKinsey & Company for over two years. In his career path, Meana has worked in markets such as Italy, Milan, London, Hong Kong, Thailand and Singapore.Lazada, in the meantime, has had a very active year.  In line with its seventh anniversary, Lazada showed off its marketing capabilities with the push of LazMalls and “Super eBusinesses” across Southeast Asia.  The offerings, dubbed super-solutions, are aimed at resolving three pain points that brands and sellers face – branding, marketing and sales. These features, which have been rolled out in conjunction with Lazada’s seventh birthday celebrations, are aimed at brands and sellers, of all sizes, to ensure they are well-positioned to ride the eCommerce boom in Southeast Asia.Lazada also had its inaugural “Super Party” music concert that was live streamed on its app simultaneously across all six markets in the region for its party. The concert, which was open to Lazada’s invited guests and fans, took place in Jakarta, Indonesia, on 26 March, 8PM (UTC +7) at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition. Grammy and Brit Awards winner and British popstar Dua Lipa, along with Indonesian actress Agnez Mo, Philippines’ entertainers Nadine Lustre and Sam Concepcion, and winner of The Remix Contest 2015 and coach on The Voice Vietnam 2017, Dong Nhi were part of the line-up for the concert.
