Lay of Draftfcb joins Creative Juice

Malaysia – Former Draftfcb digital creative group head Lay Jian Yi has left the agency to join Creative Juice Kuala Lumpur as its new creative group head effective this month.

In his new role, Lay will work alongside creative director VJ Anand in pushing the agency towards new technology and digital marketing.

“Lay’s experience and understanding of technology will help the agency move into new mediums in pushing technology in marketing,” Anand toldĀ A+M.

“All the bizarre and crazy antics that come out of Creative Juice with Lay on board is just going to be taken up a few notches,” Anand added.

Prior to Draftfcb, Lay was senior art director role at BBDO Proximity, where he worked together with Anand at the time.

He also worked with agencies such as Naga DDB/Rapps and Slipknot/Arachnid.

Both Anand and Lay will report to Sa’ad Hussein, chief creative officer and executive director of the TBWA Group.

On Lay’s appointment, Hussein said: “We’ve been strong in social media, so now we’re leaning towards other technologies like mobile apps, by pushing digital as a main driver. Lay’s expertise coming from BBDO and Draftfcb will definitely help the agency move in this direction.”
