KL airport hands arriving passengers wrapped gifts instead of luggage

Instead of receiving their bulky luggage after their flights from Kota Kinabalu and London over the holiday season, passengers that arrived in KLIA received beautifully wrapped gifts with their names stuck on to the wrapping paper. These gifts consisted of LEGO sets, branded bags and Estee Lauder products amongst many others.

According to a video posted on Facebook, this was part of Malaysia Airports Holdings' (MAHB) and its partners’ aim to share the holiday spirit. These partners include  Lego Malaysia, Valiram, Dimensi Ekslusif and Colours & Fragrances. Take a look at the initiative:

The initiative comes shortly after MAHB launched its “Shop Like A Hero” campaign or #ShopLAH to spearhead its commercial reset strategy that envisions its airports as vibrant, luxurious, and exciting destinations. The #ShopLAH initiative invited passengers to reimagine the airport from being a functional transportation hub into a shopping destination with shopping and dining experiences that will encourage them to arrive earlier at the airport.

The campaign also looked to elevate the retail, dining, and entertainment experience of its airports to a more premium stratum. MAHB plans to achieve this by featuring more brands and offering luxury goods exclusive only at its airports – very much in line with its Christmas giveaway.
