KFC Hong Kong has launched a video series on its official Facebook page to celebrate the return of KFC Bei Fong Tong Chicken.

It's a return to a previously mined concept for the product. The fast-food chain has used the idea of vintage Hong Kong to promote its Bei Fong Tong before. However, to give it another local twist, the campaign's videos and images have been crafted in the style of pulpy Hong Kong comics.

The ads tell the story of The Colonel's search for the secrets behind the Bei Fung Tong Chicken recipe.

In the first video, Colonel Sanders is lounging about watching TV at midnight while enjoying fried chicken [eds note: too relateable] and is intrigued by the recipe. He decides, as one does, to join an ancient Bei Fung Tong sect to find out the recipe.

After completing the ridiculously hardcore tests given by the sect's three masters - who represent the garlic, shallot, and chilli components of Bei Fung Tong - Colonel Sanders is declared a Bei Fung Tong master in true pulp comic style.

It's kooky, it's fun and yes, the Colonel is still rocking his uncomfortably sexy anime look from the recent dating sim. KFC is riding the weird train and we're onboard.
