KAYAK hands PR and social media duties to Edelman

Edelman has been appointed by KAYAK as its public relations and social media agency in Hong Kong following a pitch. Edelman will partner with KAYAK to support its brand-building campaigns and social content.“We just started promoting KAYAK in Hong Kong last year, but our global reputation as the world’s leading travel search engine means we have the resources, technological capability and expertise to give Hong Kongers the best possible price at incredible speed. We hope to be their go-to travel buddy," said Amy Wei, Greater China director, KAYAK. KAYAK searches other travel sites and shows travelers the information they need to find the flights, hotels, rental cars and vacation packages they are looking for. The company’s website and apps also offer tools to help travelers plan and manage their trip, including price alerts, price forecasts and free itinerary management. Each year, KAYAK processes more than one billion searches and has local sites in more than 30 countries and 20 languages.“As avid travelers and value conscious consumers – like most Hong Kongers – we at Edelman Hong Kong are delighted to work with KAYAK,” said Adrian Warr, senior director, Edelman Hong Kong. “The brand’s personality is rooted in what it’s like to ‘have a beer with a friend’ – honest, entertaining, a little bit cheeky but also very helpful, which means we can have fun with the creative executions. We are genuinely inspired by the passionate and smart KAYAK team and we look forward to delivering them creative and relevant content backed by strong media relations and a robust paid media strategy.”
