J. Walter Thompson appoints Joyce Ling as Greater China chief strategy officer

J. Walter Thompson has appointed Joyce Ling as Greater China chief strategy officer with immediate effect.In her new role, Ling is responsible for transforming the planning capability and further developing integrated branding and communication solutions for the agency’s extensive roster of global and local brands. Also, she oversees the agency’s strategic and brand planning across China. Ling reports to Carter Chow, CEO of J. Walter Thompson China.“JWT in China has made significant advances in modernising and digitising its client offering, I believe there is much we can still do. And I am excited to take part in this greater organisational transformation," said Ling.Ling was most recently chief strategy officer at McCann WorldGroup China, prior that she was vice president of strategy at SapientRazorfish, where she led strategy for more than 50 clients globally including Heineken, Nike, Burberry, Trelleborg, UPS, Nestle, Unilever, NARS cosmetics and Viessmann. Her past career also includes head of marketing & communication at Tory Burch and Michael Kors, where she worked on consumer insights, brand strategy, digital marketing and new media.“JWT’s mission is to deliver innovative creative solutions that change culture and drive business, "commented Chow, "We are excited to see how her perfect combination of experience and skills in integrated branding and digital will enrich our planning culture, and bring great solutions to our clients."
