iris Worldwide hires new business head

iris Worldwide has appointed of Kiran Aswani as business head. She will be responsible for the agency’s portfolio of health and beauty clients and will report directly to Craig Mapleston, managing director of iris Singapore.In her new role, Aswani (pictured) will be driving business growth across existing clients, such as Philips, P&G and Parkway Medical.Aswani was formerly business director at DDB Remedy, where she led the medical and strategic directions of accounts such as West Pharmaceutical, MSD Oncology, Cetaphil skincare, Mundipharma, amongst many others.She has worked in agencies such as Publicis Life and Oxygen Healthcare Communications in Mumbai, IMS Health in London, and EURO RSCG LIFE and McCann Healthcare.According to Mapleston, healthcare is one of the fastest growing industries in the region, with Asia Pacific’s fast aging population and burgeoning middle class. However, he feels communications in the B2C and B2B space is still stuck in the dark ages.“It’s time to make a more real and authentic connection with consumers and healthcare professionals. And it’s time to innovate in the ways we tell these stories.
