Iris Shanghai promotes Jill Smith to managing director

Iris, the global multi-specialist creative network, has promoted Jill Smith from business director to managing director of Iris Shanghai, following a string of new business wins.

Smith has been responsible for building Iris Shanghai’s unique offering over the past year, creating a strong digitally savvy team and a growing portfolio of multinational and domestic clients. In her previous role as business director, Smith was responsible for opportunity assessment and client portfolio development of the Shanghai office.

Prior to her roles in Shanghai, Smith held the role of client service head for Iris New York, leading the charge for clients such as Diageo, Reckitt Benckiser, Philips, Saks, COTY, CR7 and Otis. While in New York, Jill was a member of executive board, where she was responsible for agency growth and advancing capabilities for the market place.

Jill joined Iris with 10 years of experience in the industry, having previously worked with start-ups, art agencies and some of the world’s best-known brands. She is known for her unconventional marketing style.

Luke Nathans, regional CEO, APAC, Iris, said: “Jill embodies everything that makes iris thrive – She is restless, hungry and relentless in her pursuit of taking the business and her Clients forward. I have no doubt that this next chapter of her career will be nothing but a success.”

Iris Shanghai has benefited from a recent string of wins under Jill’s leadership – including ClubMed, Hackett, and Osram. The office is one of the fastest growing in the Iris network, with a team of ambitious individuals sporting a diverse range of talents. Iris Shanghai’s focus is predominantly on integration with a particular focus on retail innovation and digital.

Jill commented: “Iris Shanghai is poised to disrupt in 2019, we are moving as fast as the market and hungry for more.”
