Inquirer's mobile unit appoints new president

The Inquirer Group, owner of national broadsheet the Philippine Daily Inquirer, has promoted chief operating officer Anjo Mendoza to lead Inquirer Megamobile as its new president effective 2 May.Megamobile is the mobile development unit of the Inquirer. It was launched in 2005 to develop mobile and digital applications to support the group's digital strategy for tablets, smartphones and other mobile devices.Mendoza (pictured) will be replacing Manny Fernando who has left the Inquirer to lead MRM Worldwide Manila as managing director also starting on 2 May.A spokesperson from Inquirer Megamobile confirmed with Marketing that there's no announcement as to who will take over the CEO role as of writing.Mendoza has over 20 years of experience in the field of mobile and telecommunications. He is also the managing director of FingerApps Inc. and Brandscape Inc., and is a board member of the Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines.
