iflix teams up with Telkomsel and Globe Telecom to launch VIP plan

Iflix has tied up with Telekomunikasi Selular (Telkomsel) as part of both the companies’ multi-phase partnership to make “iflixVIP” plan available to Telkomsel subscribers throughout Indonesia. These will be available to consumers throughout Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. Jason Monteiro, iflix global marketing director said that the Indonesia market is important for iflix. He added that carrier billing also solves the issue of Indonesians lacking payment methods to transact.Crispin Tristram, Telkomsel head of digital lifestyle services said that video service is currently high in demand and Telkomsel customers utilise approximately 70% of their data quota for video streaming.“In addition, in the past year, the growth of video content traffic on our network has increased by over to 250%. This is just the beginning. I look forward to working together in the upcoming phases to create even greater value and experiences for our subscribers,” she added.Iflix also partnered with mobile brand Globe Telecom, to focus on content, co-production and distribution. iflix and Globe’s content business, called “Globe Studios” will co-develop new original content to premiere next year , with exclusive preview for Globe customers. This collaboration aims to bring original and creative local programs to Filipino audiences through a distribution channel.iflix will also become the streaming platform for some of Globe Studios’ shows. The distribution of iflix through Globe’s network will now allow over 65 million Globe users to activate “iflixVIP” plans through carrier billing.
