Jason Monteiro (pictured), iflix's former executive lead for Malaysia and Indonesia and CMO, has joined Shahid as director of commercial. Shahid is an Arabic VOD service by Middle Eastern media network MBC Group.

Iflix's spokesperson told A+M that following his departure, marketing is now led by Nisha Sundrum in Malaysia and Tiara Sugiyono in Indonesia and they both helm the head of marketing role. Additionally, Dinesh Ratnam now leads the Malaysia business as country manager and in Indonesia, Cam Walker oversees the market's operations as executive director.

Monteiro was with iflix for two years and took on the Malaysia remit following Diana Boo's departure in May this year. Prior to iflix, Monteiro was group head, SVP, consumer marketing at Indosat Ooredoo for more than two years. During his time there, he was responsible for delivering revenue, margin and customer results across the company's prepaid, postpaid and handset consumer business throughout Indonesia. Monteiro also worked at Vodafone, Telecom New Zealand and TelstraClear. A+M has reached out to Shahid and Monteiro for comment.

Recently, iflix CEO Mark Britt announced that he is stepping down after more than five years to spend more time with his family. Succeeding him is managing director Marc Barnett who has been with the company for more than two years. Meanwhile in September, iflix Malaysia's head of marketing, Awin Roslin, left for Astro . The company also named Kevin Liu chief technology officer for iflix Advertising to spearhead the programmatic strategy.

More recently, its Indonesia office tied up with tech company Migo to deliver new paid and sponsored premium video experiences to Indonesian consumers with limited online connectivity. Slated to launch in the first quarter of 2020, Migo Indonesia will heavily feature iflix content alongside other curated films and TV series from Indonesia and Southeast Asia.
