Digital school Hyper Island has appointed Otto Ruijs (pictured) as its new managing director for its operations in Singapore. He was previously the learning design director in the company. The position was previously held by Christina Andersson, who will be relocating to Sweden to take up a global role as of April. Ruijs has had 15 years worth of experience in innovation consulting and was formerly running the Singapore office of ?What If! Innovation Partners for three and a half years.Ruijs' responsibilities will include shaping Hyper Island as a digital catalyst for companies and individuals as they prepare to navigate the digital age."Dealing with the digital change around us requires not only the acquisition of skillsets, but more importantly, a shift in mindset towards how we think about the world," said Ruijs."The successful companies of today - AirBnb, Uber, Alibaba and Tencent - to name  a few, were built with a different DNA from the ground up. They get that the digital age ushers in a completely new way of working, living and being, and more importantly, know how to leverage that from both a customer and employee perspective."Since establishing itself in Asia in 2012, Hyper Island has helped individuals and organisations adapt to the changing digital world by transforming thinking and skillsets.
