Huawei Device Hong Kong has rolled out a digital-led campaign to tout its Huawei selfie series P8, featuring actress Hatou – Harriet Yeung (楊詩敏-蝦頭).Developed by digital marketing and communication agency A.LOUD Asia Communications Limited, the campaign spans Facebook, YouTube, WeChat, Huawei e-commerce platform vmall.hk and popular local forums.https://vimeo.com/136890111The video focuses on the “selfie beauty context” among women, where Yeung humorously demonstrates how she takes the perfect selfie with a Huawei P8.It also aims to highlight Huawei P8’s key feature of what it calls the “perfect selfie” function, which can record the user’s face in advance, and put the focus on the user whenever a selfie is taken. As localisation is an important element in the ad to enhance the appeal of a Mainland brand, the campaign makes use of local jargon such as “prawn head turns prawn strip” (蝦頭變蝦條) to show the Huawei P8 camera function of beautifying the subjects. So far, the video has reached more than 300,000 views on YouTube, 188,000 in paid reach and 5.3 post clicks on Facebook. To sustain the momentum of the first wave of the viral video, four other short videos were produced and posted on Facebook as timeline games to increase interaction with Huawei fans, help draw traffic to Huawei’s Facebook page and boost fan count.Timeline Game 1:https://vimeo.com/136890110Timeline Game 2:https://vimeo.com/136890108Timeline Game 3:https://vimeo.com/136890109The campaign will run until the end of August.Credits:Client: HuaweiCreative: A.LOUD Asia Communications LimitedMedia: MediaCom Hong Kong
