Every February, big brand names from around the globe descend on Barcelona for the Mobile World Congress (MWC) to unveil their new flagship smartphones, or to show off their new technology innovations.
Kicking off early, Huawei partnered with The Pantone Color Institute to feature the latest trend colours in Huawei’s upcoming product launches.
“As the world’s leading authority on colour, we are very excited to work with The Pantone Color Institute on developing our product range to bring our customers the very latest trends,” Richard Yu , CEO of Huawei consumer business group said in a statement.
Laurie Pressman , VP of The Pantone Color Institute added, “With consumers increasingly comfortable using colour as a form of expression, we are seeing more experimentation and creative uses of colour. Colour is truly a medium through which individuals can express themselves to the world around them. Huawei recognises this evolving consumer dynamic and through our partnership we’re looking forward to providing Huawei customers with the ability to make a bold colour statement.”
Through the partnership, The Pantone Color will help Huawei leverage the psychology and emotion of colour in its design strategy.
Huawei CBG is now the world’s third-largest smartphone manufacturer. Its Huawei P9 and P9 Plus which launched last year in April have exceeded 10 million global shipments worldwide.
Other than Huawei, LG, Sony, Nokia, Samsung and more brand names are expected to launch their new smartphones at MWC.
