Fashion retail group H&M has moved its media account to OMD, after working with UM for a one year period.
The fashion retailer opened its first store in Singapore in September last year, appointing UM for media duties and Mercury for PR support.
Reasons behind the latest agency move is not known, with H&M directing all media queries to the company’s headquarters in Sweden.
The company has since announced plans to expand its Southeast Asia presence with a store coming up in Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) and eventually in Thailand.
In its financial report released in January this year, H&M said it was planning for a strong expansion in 2012 with about 275 new stores due to launch.
Barring Malaysia and Thailand, the countries in which it plans to open the most number of stores during the year include China, the US and the UK.
UM declined to comment while OMD could not be reached for comment at press time.
