H+K bags communication remit for PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Games

PyeongChang 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (POCOG) has appointed Hill+Knowlton Strategies (H+K) for a period of 18-month international communications.Led by Lorna Campbell, regional director, sports marketing and sponsorship, H+K will activate a media and content communications campaign that will promote the games worldwide. The company will also provide strategic counsel on crisis and issues preparation, and response. H+K has previously handled communications for the organising committees of the Beijing 2008, Vancouver 2010, and London 2012 Games.Vivian Lines, chairman of Hill+Knowlton Strategies Asia Pacific said, “H+K has a deep understanding of the Olympic environment, cultures and values including an extensive global network. This gives us the agility to support the games. We have a strong team in the region who will work closely with POCOG to help us connect with and inspire the world around the excitement of PyeongChang and the Winter Olympics.”YEO Hyung-koo, POCOG’s secretary general, said: "We are confident that Hill+Knowlton Strategies brings a fresh approach that will see our Olympic dream brought to life across the globe.”Andy Sutherden, H+K Global, head of sports marketing and sponsorship added, “POCOG has partnered with them to showcase the POCOG 2018. We know that with each games comes new challenges and opportunities, and POCOG will be the first Games to benefit from the new olympic channel."
