Harbour City to broadcast Christmas on YouTube

As live streaming apps have generated a lot of buzz in the field of social technology. This Christmas Harbour City will broadcast its Christmas lighting and celebration from onsite to YouTube for the first time.Harbour City has taken a new approach to promote the mall, especially to overseas markets like Korea, Taiwan, Japan, South East Asia and India.Beyond using the traditional advertising and promotional marketing, Harbour City has lined up international brands and organisations, such as working with Hong Kong Disneyland for the Christmas decoration to target the tourist market.In addition, the mall has been active in various major social media platforms since 2008. The official accounts of Harbour City keep spreading the latest news, shopping and dining experiences of Harbour City to local and overseas visitors via these platforms.Karen Tam, assistant general manager of Promotions & Marketing at Harbour City, told Marketing the purpose of livestreaming the event is that the mall wants more people around the world to enjoy the ceremony.Harbour City was the first corporate brand in Hong Kong to make use of Periscope and broadcast in real time the marketing campaign “Where’s The Christmas theme this year is the celebration of the 10th Anniversary of Hong Kong Disneyland which brings the “Happily Ever After” Christmas Avenue to Hong Kong citizens and tourists.Audience can view the Christmas lighting ceremony live on YouTube at6pm (HK time) on 4 November via Google Hong Kong’s YouTube channel www.youtube.com/GOOGLEinHK and Harbour City’s YouTube channel www.youtube.com/HKHarbourCity.Online celebrities, YouTubers and influencers will also be invited to live stream their “happy moments” via their own channel to increase public engagement.
