Guns N' Roses concert organiser cops flak

The Facebook page of LAMC Productions, organiser of the Guns N’ Roses concert, has been flooded with complaints about long queues and faulty payment systems at its first concert in Singapore on Saturday. The official card partner of the concert was OCBC, radio partner was OneFM 91.3 and TV partner was AXN. Marketing has further reached out to the organiser for a comment on this issue. To facilitate cashless payments, the concert organisers implanted a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system. This system has been executed at major events such as Austin City Limits and Electric Daisy Carnival in the past, to ensure easy payments and identification. The same technology was implemented at the Guns N’s Roses concerted, but massively backfired due to poor execution. For instance, one of the main issues faced, as suggested by concert goers, was the fact that despite a cashless facility and cash credits in their RFIDs, the attendees could not buy food and beverages because the organiser either ran out of stock or the system broke down.Post this mishap, LAMC Productions publicly apologised to the concert goers on its Facebook page and website. The statement read:“As we continue to bring the world’s greatest acts to Singapore, LAMC would like to add that we are apologetic to attendees who were unable to spend their full RFID credits. Our wish is for our audience to be fulfilled; we therefore pledge to refund the unspent RFID credits. We are working hard with our teams to formulate a refund process. Please keep your wristbands and be sure to stay up to date with our Facebook page where we will publish repayment measures in due course.Despite the apology, netizens were fuming. The page continued to be swarmed with complaints. Adding to the above woes, as suggested by the user comments on Facebook, were unorganised traffic flow and lack of sufficient security. Here are the comments which were found on the company’s Facebook profile:
