Grey Singapore has appointed Konstantin Popovic (pictured right) to CEO, effective 1 January 2018. This is in addition to his current role as executive VP, MD (GSK). He will be replacing current CEO Subbaraju Alluri (pictured left), who is taking on the newly created role of area director – Indonesia and Thailand. Alluri takes over from Monika Rudijono, CEO of Grey Group Indonesia.
Popovic will continue to work closely with Nirvik Singh, chairman & CEO, Grey Group, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, as well as accelerate the transformation of Grey into a full marketing services organisation. Popovic is managing the GSK account across Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa. In his new role, he will work together with Neil Cotton, chief strategy officer and Tim Cheng, chief creative officer.
Before joining Grey, Popovic worked at Publicis WW New York as brand agency leader for Procter & Gamble (P&G) Healthcare, where he led multi-agency teams globally. He was also the global leader for Publicis’ real-time marketing engine. Prior to that, Popovic was with BBDO for 16 years in Germany and the US, leading businesses for blue-chip clients such as Henkel, Mars, Wrigley, Johnson & Johnson and Best Buy.

Alluri, who will also report to Singh, took over as area director for Singapore and Thailand at the end of 2015, following Grey’s acquisition of full-service independent agency NudeJeh in Thailand. He first led Grey Group Singapore in 2005 and boosted the agency’s profitability by leading the team to win multiple major accounts. Prior to that, he worked at Grey Group Indonesia, where he was instrumental in expanding the workforce and winning accounts such as BMW, Indosat, Daihatsu and Wyeth. He began his advertising career with DDB Chennai (India) and also worked at J. Walter Thompson and Rapp Collins.

Meanwhile, Grey Group Indonesia has also appointed current country delivery manager, WPP team, P&G Indonesia, Sharan Sood, to the newly created role of GM. He will continue to focus on his P&G role and play a crucial role in the seamless transition of Grey Group Indonesia’s leadership. Sood will report to Alluri.
Sood began leading the WPP P&G team in 2013, and is responsible for offering strategic oversight and leadership, as well as drive the network’s horizontality agenda. He managed WPP’s relationship with P&G Indonesia across areas such as brand initiatives and shopper marketing.
Before that, he was head of planning, Mumbai at DDB, where he worked on diversified services including activation, events, sports marketing and shopper marketing. Sood began his career at Euro RSCG PR, working on high-end lifestyle brands such as Bvlgari and Wella, before heading to Ogilvy & Mather’s specialist rural division. At Ogilvy & Mather, he worked on Unilever’s low cost distribution model Project Shakti, and led consultancy projects for India’s telecom and insurance clients such as Vodafone, Tata Tele services and Prudential ICCI.
“I have been working out of the Grey offices for a while now and the team and the talent is very familiar to me. Our aim is to be able to give our clients the best service and offerings available. With the changes at hand, I am confident we will be able to achieve this,” Sood said.

In addition, his drive and his understanding of the digital and marketing landscape will be instrumental in the continuing transformation of our agency,” Singh said.
