Temasek has appointed Lena Goh (pictured) as director for its public affairs team. In her new role, she will be responsible for Temasek’s brand strategy and communications needs.
In a statement to Marketing, Stephen Forshaw, managing director, strategic and public affairs, said Goh will be joining Temasek in a few months when she completes her service at Government Technology Agency (GovTech).
GovTech did not comment on Marketing‘s queries at the time of writing.
During her time at GovTech, Goh focused on marketing the digital transformation journey of the government’s digital services. She was also tasked with demonstrating the positive impact it had on businesses and the people. As part of Singapore’s vision to become a Smart Nation, her role also included shapping the domestic and international audience understanding and awareness of Singapore’s achievements.
Goh’s duties also included managing the communications and community engagement teams and providing senior counsel to the GovTech leadership team. She sat on GovTech’s senior leadership team.
Prior to joining the civil service, Goh spent nearly 20 years in the private sector in the technology and media businesses. During her time as managing director of Maxus Singapore, she reported to GroupM CEO for Singapore Jon Thurlow and then Maxus’ APAC CEO Neil Stewart. She was also the Asia communications lead, corporate communications at Microsoft; consumer communications director, East Asia at Motorola; and senior marketing communications manager at Singtel.
Formerly known as Infocomms Development Authority of Singapore, GovTech was formed in 2016 to look into the digital transformation of Singapore’s government ICT solutions and to provide digital services to citizens and businesses. This enables it to help build Singapore into a Smart Nation.
