Government's top digital aid resigns

Jeremy Godfrey, the government's chief information office responsible for its digital initiatives including the recent MyGovHK launch, has resigned from his role.Godfrey, who took up his role in April 2008, was the public face of the government's online initiatives as an active blogger, Twitter user and speaker on digital and social media initiatives.His three-year appointment was due to end in April, however the government accepted his request for early leave.In a statement, the government said he made a significant contribution to the delivery of the Digital 21 strategy and to enhancing e-Government services.These included the relaunch of the government's web portal in March last year.Deputy chief information officer Stephen Mak will act as chief until the post is filled.
