Interpublic Group agency Golin announced it has hired Stephen Millikin as executive director, leading the agency’s B2C practice. Milliken was previously stationed in New York, where he worked as global senior PR director for Steinway & Sons and prior to that, he served as senior vice president at MSLGroup. With over 20 years of experience, Millikin has worked in multiple industries including luxury, retail, fashion, auto, airlines and the arts for clients including Emirates, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Brioni, Banana Republic and Mattel. He will be responsible for developing Golin’s B2C practice which the press release asserts as seeing significant growth in 2017 through enhanced creative and digital products and services.Millikin will report directly to Hong Kong managing director Jane Morgan. Morgan commented, “It’s taken us quite some time to find a strong consumer lead, and with Stephen, he has the experience and creativity needed to guide our clients forward through what is an increasingly complex time for brands.“Having recent global client-side experience means he can empathise with the struggles clients now face, including the pressure to show direct business results from PR and marketing campaigns, and the need for multi-cultural and geo-political guidance.”Millikin said, “I was originally drawn to Golin because of the obvious passion the team has for their brand partners, as well as the tremendous emphasis the agency places on creativity. Golin’s recent investments in digital and data, not only in Hong Kong, but across the entire global network, will transform the way we service clients and I’m eager to play a part in leading the charge in Hong Kong, and across Asia.”Millikin’s appointment follows the recent hire of Weber Shandwick long-termer Ben Evetts, as executive director, B2B.
