Godzilla strikes back at IPPUDO Hong Kong

Before Godzilla Resurgence hits the big screen, a red carpet has been rolled out for the iconic monster as it first appearances at Japanese ramen restaurant IPPUDO Hong Kong.In celebration of its 5th anniversary in Hong Kong, the restaurant has collaborated with Godzilla, the star of the upcoming cinematic film Godzilla Resurgence, with a series of celebratory activities this year.The campaign comes after IPPUDO Hong Kong’s outstanding reception of the last year’s collaboration with Kamen Rider, a Japanese superhero television series.“It was a breakthrough as we have never collaborated with any cartoon characters before that,” said Andrew Huang, operations and marketing manager, IPPUDO Hong Kong.“The campaign also drove real business returns: we recorded an increase in sales throughout the 3-month campaign last year, and had double-digit growth in Facebook fans.”He adds that engagement is getting more important for promotion campaigns, as target audiences can participate the activation and also interact with the brand.This year all the restaurant outlets will be renovated to showcase a series of Godzilla visuals-in-stores, including Godzilla posters, window stickers, paper fans and photo props for online campaign.
