Resorts World Genting will be hosting its first ever e-sports tournament, ESL One Genting, organised by Red Bull. This follows the success of the ESL One tournament in Manila, Philippines, early this year. The tournament for the popular multiplayer game defense of the Ancients 2 (Dota 2) will take place from 6 to 8 January 2017 and see a selection of invited and qualified Dota 2 teams. ESL One has also been hosted in Frankfurt, Germany, Cologne and New York to name a few.Redbull and Resorts World Genting are not the first to jump on the e-sports bandwagon, with recent times seeing Swiss hardware provider Logitech sponsoring a local League of Legends (LoL) competitive gaming team in Malaysia. This is part of a partnership agreement with Garena, a consumer Internet platform provider based in Asia. Called the Kuala Lumpur Hunters, the team was provided with Logitech products to help in their training efforts and improve their competitive performance in upcoming gaming competitions.Globally, other brands such as Coca-Cola have also recognised the untapped potential of the e-sports industry, involving itself in major e-gaming events such as the League of Legends World Championship in the US market. The company has even had a head of global gaming.Other brands such as Nissan, Intel, Nike, NBCUniversal and Toyota have also started investing in this arena.Check out the trailer for the tournament here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YoHaSDCIewI
