FutureGov's digital assets now owned by former Alphabet staff

OpenGov Asia (OpenGov) has acquired all digital assets of former FutureGov after completing the legal paperwork.OpenGov is run by former Alphabet Media managing director for conferences Mohit Sagar. He is now managing director of the company.FutureGov ceased all its operations in May this year. In a LinkedIn post then, Joshua Chambers editor of FutureGov.Asia had said despite closing two of the company’s events arms last year, the debt accumulated by parent company Alphabet Media, run by James Smith was too great.Speaking to Marketing, Sagar, whilst declining to reveal the cost of the transaction, said the deal was  limited to digital assets of FutureGov only. The new website will launch early October, it will include up-to-date stories, news, and exclusive content to those who subscribe.Through this acquisition, OpenGov will focus on delivering high quality content with an array of analytics.“Our platform will enhance user experience to deliver current information about the use of technology within government. Our platform is dynamic, it keeps up with the modern and progressive environment, where as we know, technology is changing at a rapid rate,” Sagar said.OpenGov is a content provider to public sector, education and healthcare officials. It will leverage its digital assets to provide an upgraded interface to its audience. “We are working to combine our events and digital arm, with the sole focus on improving user experience to all parties involved,” Sagar said.
