Former Ogilvy Malaysia chief creative officer Gavin Simpson (pictured) has joined TCP-TBWA\Indonesia as chief creative officer with immediate effect. In addition to client responsibilities, Simpson will also be responsible for developing and training the agency’s talent. The role is a newly created one.
Simpson was previously with Ogilvy for over 20 years, working in Malaysia, Hong Kong and the Philippines. He left his role as Ogilvy Malaysia’s chief creative officer early in 2018. He has also had stints at Naga DDB, Leo Burnett Indonesia and Y&R Malaysia before it merged with VML to form VMLY&R. “I’ve long admired TBWA\ and the work it does. I can’t wait to wear my pirate patch and disrupt market conventions. I’m very excited to be part of the incredible team in Jakarta,” Simpson said.
