Tan Chong International has appointed former Mediacorp marketer Debra Soon to the newly created role of head – group corporate management. She reports to Glenn Tan, deputy chairman and managing director of Tan Chong International. Tan confirmed the news to Marketing.
Under group corporate management spanning 11 countries in the Asian & Southeast Asia region, Soon will oversee a wide spectrum of functions in the Group. The functions include HR, IT, Customer & Dealership Experience, Events Management and Training.
“Under Soon’s leadership, the group believes that she can help achieve greater synergies across functions and countries optimising the Group’s internal and external resources,” said Tan.
In Mediacorp, Soon was tasked to create an integrated marketing organisation that brings together the majority of its marketing and communications personnel under a unified leadership. The division at Mediacorp formerly under Soon’s remit now reports to CEO Tham Loke Kheng. Soon had been in the media industry for over 20 years and prior to her role as CMO, she took on the chief customer officer role at Mediacorp.
