Former marketer to helm McDonald’s

McDonald’s has appointed former vice president of marketing, communications and consumer/business insight Stephen Chew (pictured) as its new managing director.

He takes over from Sarah Casanova who has moved on to take a new role as chief executive officer and president of McDonald’s Japan.

A spokesperson of McDonald’s said, as the managing director, Chew will be making the key leadership decisions.

In a press statement, McDonald’s said the appointment does not effect any change in the company’s business plans.

Chew joined McDonald’s Malaysia in 1996 and has held multiple leadership roles within the organisation.
