McCann Worldgroup has appointed former CEO of Brand Union, Toby Southgate (pictured) as its new global chief growth officer.
He will focus on new business efforts and expanding the agency’s relationships with existing clients, as well as facilitate partnerships with other agencies within Interpublic Group, according to Adweek. Southgate replaces Alex Lubar, former McCann global chief marketing officer who was named CEO at McCann London in 2015.
Southgate was the CEO of WPP’s Brand Union for nearly two years, prior to joining McCann. He was with Brand Union for nearly eight years in total. During his time at Brand Union, he managed the integration of JWT’s corporate communications business Brouillard and Ogilvy’s Brand Identity Group into Brand Union’s US operations.
Before his time at the WPP-owned brand agency, he was the managing partner at Marque Creative, formerly known as Third Eye Design, where he helped develop its consultancy services and led the expansion of the business into the US.
