Foodpanda raises US$110m and names new Hong Kong MD

Online food delivery service foodpanda has secured a funding round of US$110 million from Rocket Internet AG and other investors.

This comes after foodpanda acquired four online food delivery platforms in Hong Kong and other parts of Asia last month.

The service is now active in 40 countries across five continents with over 45,000 restaurants listed.

“The new funding allows us to fully focus on user experience and customer service with the aim of completely disrupting the way people order food,” Ralf Wenzel, co-founder and CEO at foodpanda, said.

Foodpanda has also promoted Inna Leontenkova to the role of Hong Kong managing director.  Leontenkova was previously regional head of sales in South Asia and Southeast Asia at foodpanda.
