Foodpanda is celebrating Malaysia's 61st National Day by reducing the minimum order value to RM10 for orders within the Ampang area. Meanwhile, users in Penang, Johor, Petaling Jaya and Kota Damansara will enjoy free delivery.Furthermore, foodpanda users nationwide will enjoy reduced delivery fee from between 13 to 24 August, followed by free delivery from 25 to 31 August. In a statement to A+M, foodpanda's spokesperson said the campaign was prompted by foodpanda's intention to celebrate the many flavours that unite Malaysians. It felt the best way to commemorate National Day was to offer free food deliveries to doorsteps. foodpanda will focus its marketing efforts on the digital space, through channels such social media, digital news letters and in-app banners.“We want to celebrate Merdeka this year in true foodpanda style, by delivering good food right to the doorsteps of Malaysians to encourage them to gather around the table for a meal. Nothing brings people closer together than a good meal - and even more so when it’s in the comfort of their own home,” Sayantan Das, managing director, foodpanda Malaysia, said. This campaign follows foodpanda's partnership with McDonald's Malaysia to expand the latter's McDelivery network, in a bid to extend the reach of McDelivery by penetrating new areas through foodpanda’s delivery network. Earlier this year, foodpanda launched its 24-hour delivery service, following its intention to expand across Malaysia.
