Andrew Au will step down from his role as managing director at Fluid, as he heads for Singapore.
Au joined the independent agency as business development director in late 2010 and was quickly promoted to managing director in June 2011.
He is leaving the agency for personal reasons but said with a young family in Hong Kong, pollution and heath considerations were a major factor.
He said it was a hard decision to make, having worked his entire career in Hong Kong.
Guy Parsonage, the newly instated Fluid CEO, hinted there were plans in the works to strike an alliance for a Singapore office, but Au said discussions were ongoing.
“I’m not going there with the soul purpose to open something, but we are in deep discussions,” he said.
Since coming on board last month, Parsonage has hinted at expanding the business to hubs like Singapore and Shanghai.
He today told Marketing that details would be revealed soon.
Prior to joining Fluid, Au ran advertising and sponsorship for The Economist Group across Asia. He also held the role of marketing manager for Fortune magazine.
