Fox International Channels (FIC) and HyppTV have teamed up to bring Malaysians the tvN K-Pop Star Hunt 2 talent show.
The show, back in its second installment, is open to Malaysians for the first time and calls on K-Pop fans to upload video submissions of their K-Pop sing and dance routine on the tvN Star Hunt 2 website.
tvN, a channel run by FIC and shown on Telekom Malaysia’s Hypp TV, hit broadcast in October 2010 and introduced the Star Hunt talent show last year in five countries. This year, the talent contest is open to Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Philippines, Japan, China and Indonesia.
For Telekom Malaysia, the talent show marks a first for it and Hypp TV.
According to Jeremy Kung (pictured), new media executive vice president and chief executive officer of TM Net, the reality show is in response to the current popularity of K-Pop and Korean culture.
Every week, promos of the talent show and audition process will be aired on tvN and the six other FIC channels on Hypp TV. tvN’s Facebook page will also be creating buzz around the talent show as radio partners One FM and Hot FM will reach out via radio commercials and announcements.
