FCB Malaysia names new lead to replace long-standing CEO Nathan

FCB International has appointed Shaun Tay (pictured) as chief executive officer of FCB Group in Malaysia. He was previously the managing director of FCB Kuala Lumpur.Tay succeeds T.Renganathan (Nathan), who was leading FCB for 47 years. He will be responsible for both FCB and its boutique agency, Ignite, effective immediately.“Tay was hired last year in collaboration with T.Renganathan with the assumption that he would become T.Renganathan’s successor,” Sébastien Desclée, president of FCB International, said.For the past 12 months, the FCB group in Kuala Lumpur has been expanding their agency management, bringing in talent from creative, digital and business management in order to enhance their offering in the region.“Over the last year, Tay has demonstrated unrivaled passion for the business and has laid strong foundations to build the future of the agency,” Desclée said.Desclée noted that the smooth transition between Tay and T.Renganathan will help the new management team ensure a seamless evolution for clients and staff as well as align itself with FCB’s global vision.“FCB thanks Nathan, former CEO, for his long service to the network and wishes him the best of luck in all future endeavors,” Desclée added.“We’ve been ramping up our creative standards to meet evolving client requirements, especially in the digital field, where we aim to leverage our formidable storytelling capabilities with new channel execution. FCB’s rebrand set an exciting new strategic direction and we’ve been rejuvenating the agency in terms of culture, operations and creative output in line with that,” Tay added.
