FCB KL names chief creative officer

Creative agency FCB Kuala Lumpur has appointed Shi-Ping Ong (pictured) as chief creative officer.He is returning to Malaysia from Hong Kong to take charge of FCB Kuala Lumpur’s creative offering. Hi role is effective 1 January 2016.He joins FCB KL from Cheil Worldwide where he was executive creative director. He has been based in Hong Kong for the last eight years working for the likes of Ogilvy and DDB as creative director. At DDB Hong Kong, he handled McDonald’s, the agency’s largest account, while also overseeing regional creative duties on Lipton across six countries.Ong’s prior Malaysian experience includes his role as deputy executive creative director for TBWA, where he worked on clients such as Tourism Malaysia, Telekom Malaysia and Guinness Anchor.“We’ve taken our time to look for the right creative leader,” T. Renganathan, CEO of FCB Kuala Lumpur said. “I’m extremely pleased to have Ong join the team, as I know he’ll take us to the next level,” he added.“FCB has big ambitions that can only be filled by strong, talented people who are willing to invest themselves into building an agency,” Shaun Tay, managing director for FCB Kuala Lumpur, said.“FCB is all about change and I’m looking forward to helping the agency realize its ambition of becoming a leader in Malaysia,” Ong said.
