Fast and Furious 7 smashes box-office numbers in China

Just weeks after being released in China, action thriller Fast & Furious 7 has broken Chinese box-office numbers, pulling in a huge $324 million after 15 days of release.Data from Ent Group, a Chinese entertainment data service, shows the movie has broken more than 30 records at the Chinese box office, including the single-day and first-day records, plus a $319 million record set by Transformers: Age of Extinction.The film, starring Vin Diesel and the late Paul Walker has now taken a record-breaking $1.32 billion in box-office numbers worldwide.Ent Group says about 52 million fans have flocked to theaters nationwide to watch more than 1 million screenings.Wei Huan, an analyst at Ent Group, said that the Chinese box office slow season is in April and few big-budget domestic movies have been released during the month to compete for revenue.
