Japanese cosmetics group Fantastic Natural Cosmetics Limited has awarded its estimated US$18 million media business to Carat Hong Kong.
The move sees FANCL drop WPP agency MediaCom from its roster after a 10-year relationship. The account review did not include FANCL’s advertising business, which remains with Ogilvy & Mather.
It also comes off the back of a big year for FANCL, which is quickly expanding its business in Hong Kong and across Greater China, where it currently operates 120 stores.
This year has seen the cosmetics group revamp and launch a range of new and existing products, including its Overnight Hydrating Pack.
The win caps off a huge week for Carat which won a US$2 million account from Hong Kong Sky Deck Limited and Tiffany & Co’s media buying business for the Asia Pacific region.
Chris Ryan, CEO Aegis Media Hong Kong, described this week as “brilliant”.
“We have had a storming end to the year,” he said. “This is good news and there’s more to come.”
