Café de Coral has kicked off a food waste reduction campaign with local rap and hip hop group FAMA to draw awareness to the food waste issue in Hong Kong.Dubbed "smart rice order", the fast food brand's new initiative enables customers to support St. James Settlement’s "people's food bank" by requesting "less rice" or half rice" for their rice dishes during lunch or dinner. The brand will donate HK$3 per every order to the NGO's meal service to the needy at Sham Shui Po district until 30 September.FAMA's rappers, C-Kwan and 6-Wing, are tapped into the campaign in its latest promotion video on Facebook. The two will also host a flash mob and play games at the brand's selected restaurant to check if customers have chosen appropriate rice portion. The two faces will be on another video with two other community contributor, Aman Moving Services and GREENLADIES, to share their stories in pushing forward the food waste reduction concept. The video is expected to be aired this month.
