Facebook hires country head in Thailand

Facebook has appointed John Wagner as head of Thailand. In his role he will lead the Facebook business team in Thailand, partnering closely with businesses and agencies to help them achieve their goals.Wagner has more than 20 years of experience in Thailand and was most recently a partner and managing director with The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in Thailand. In that role he headed the marketing, sales and pricing Practice Area and was a core leader of the Technology, Media & Telecommunications Practice Area in Southeast Asia.While at BCG, Wagner helped leading companies across Southeast Asia to develop and put into place marketing and growth strategies. Prior to BCG, Wagner worked with a wide range of companies and organisations, including Citibank in Thailand and The Monitor Group.In his role, Wagner will focus on driving greater value and support for international and Thai businesses across several industries, such as e-commerce, consumer goods, financial services, technology and telecommunications.“With 265 million people on Facebook in Southeast Asia, this is home to some of the largest and fastest growing countries for Facebook - and Thailand is an important country driving this growth.
