Facebook plans to launch an app for video creators later this year. This announcement was made by product director Daniel Danker during the "Future of Facebook Video" panel at VidCon, Facebook's annual online video conference, according to Mashable. The company said the new app will feature access to Facebook Live and a new live creative kit which offers creators access to "special tools" that include adding intros and outros to live broadcasts. Custom frames and custom stickers will also be available for creators and viewers to use.The new app also includes a new Community tab, allowing creators to more easily connect with their followers across Facebook, Instagram and Messenger. It will also provide more insights such as who the creator's followers are and how they are consuming the creator's videos.Facebook has rolled out a few video and ad initiatives recently. Last month, it introduced mid-roll video advertisements, allowing advertisers to insert the ad break as long as the video has been rolling for at least 20 seconds. It also launched ad unit, Collection, in March to help people find and buy products they see from videos that marketers share on the site.Earlier this year, Facebook also launched advanced measurement for all advertisers and announced that auto-play videos in the news feed will have sound turned on by default.
