Ex-CEO of QSR Brands restaurant division Merrill Pereyra joins Pizza Hut India

Merrill Pereyra (pictured), former CEO – restaurants division, QSR Brands, has taken on the role of managing director, Pizza Hut in New Delhi, India under Yum! Brands. According to his LinkedIn, he will be responsible for providing strategic leadership to the franchisee partners in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and Maldives.

Prior to this, Pereyra was with QSR for more than three years and was responsible for providing operational and strategic leadership and vision to the business. Before joining QSR, Pereyra was the CEO of Domino’s Pizza Indonesia for about three years, and was in charge of turning around the business to a profitable model that could be scaled. This included market expansion and store growth from 42 stores in 2013 to 80 stores at the end of 2015, he said on LinkedIn. He also worked at Australian sandwich bar Healthy Habits and McDonald’s. A+M has reached out to Yum! Brands for comment.

Based in Louisville, Kentucky, Yum! Brands has over 48,000 restaurants in more than 145 countries and territories primarily operating the company’s brands - KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell. In January this year, Yum! Brands promoted president and CFO David Gibbs to president and COO, reporting to CEO Greg Creed. Gibbs now assumes operating leadership of the global KFC division as well as the US and international businesses of Pizza Hut and Taco Bell.
