Duracell has appointed Wunderman Thompson as its global creative agency, with the exception of the North American region. This comes after a four-month multi agency pitch with over 10 agencies in the running. The partnership will commence immediately with expected campaigns to roll out later in the year. Marketing consulting partner Flock Associates is the designer and facilitator of the creative pitch process. Tatiana Vivienne Jouanneau, chief marketing officer, Duracell said Wunderman Thompson delivered strategic creative work grounded in technology executed with big platform vision. "The agency provided a strong understanding of the global markets and the strategic clarity of how we can take our international brand into the future. Wunderman Thompson was outstanding in its pitch, the agency was joyful, and we immediately felt the chemistry was right," she added. “We are absolutely thrilled to be working with this iconic brand in a moment of transformation for Duracell as they enter the power industry. The Duracell team work is innovative, modern and works in an agile way focused on outcomes,” said Tamara Ingram, global chairman Wunderman Thompson, adding the agency wants to take the brand to a new level. Last month, Wunderman Thompson launched its new brand identity as the agency aims to be identified as an a creative, data and technology agency. The new brand was created by WPP’s Landor. The agency said to the press that “inspiring growth” takes three things. These include seeing the world differently and reject conventional thinking, unbounded creativity to rethink business, culture and brand experiences, and to act decisively and accountably end-to-end. The agency also released a new website, which outlines its structure within. Wunderman Thompson also appointed Annette Male as CEO for APAC, effective 4 March 2019. She will be based in Singapore and will report to global CEO Mel Edwards.
