Don Anderson (pictured) has left We Are Social six months after being named regional managing director.
Currently, no replacement has been named and Anderson’s responsibilities have been split between regional managing director Simon Kemp and newly appointed GM Sophina Smith. Smith was last client service director and told Marketing, Anderson left for personal reasons.
Anderson was tasked to focus on leading the agency’s regional offering and partnerships, strategic growth plans and marketing communications for the business. He first came on board in 2014.
On a LinkedIn blog post he said:
“In the nearly two years since joining the team, I’ve had the fortune of witnessing solid strides behind social marketing. While some marketers may still treat social marketing as an “add on” or consider it simply as community hygiene, it’s comforting to know that many others, particularly the clients whom We Are Social serves, are demonstrating that social is deserving of far greater attention and value.”
Simon Kemp, regional managing partner in Asia, We Are Social said:
“Anderson has decided to move on from We Are Social for personal reasons. He’s been a great asset to the We Are Social team in Singapore over the last couple of years, and we wish him all the best for the future. ”
He added the agency has a long-standing management team in place in Singapore.
