Digitas Hong Kong has appointed Antony Yiu as its new managing director who will replace David Paysant. The agency has no further restructure plans ahead, Marketing understands. The agency confirmed the appointment is a direct response to the newly-won Cathay Pacific business, following the airlines' strong business demand for digital media. In August, the airline appointed Publicis Groupe to handle creative and media in an agency roster that also includes VCCP. This appointment also saw the departure of McCann Worldgroup as the agency of record after 25 years. Digitas Hong Kong did not provide further details over David Paysant's departure. He joined the agency last year after working for Geometry Global Hong Kong as managing director for more than seven years.Meanwhile, Yiu will join the agency on 8 October and also has a Publicis Groupe Hong Kong role for business development. Prior to his latest appointment, Yiu was most recently head of digital, search and performance, Asia Pacific at Wavemaker and had been with the agency since 2014. He also held senior management position at iProspect.Tom Kao, CEO of Publicis Group Hong Kong, said the group was delighted to have Yiu on board. “Yiu is one of the most respected digital/media professionals in Hong Kong and in Asia. This is a critical time for us as we are going through a transformation to strengthen our team in Hong Kong, and to drive even stronger collaborations among our agencies,” Kao said.
